Thesis
Obesity drugs are expanding the market, with over 80% of Lilly and Novo prescriptions going to patients new to GLP-1s as oral pills widen access. Aging demographics and pricing deals that reduced policy uncertainty support the sector, and devices and tools add balance.
Risks
A roughly $300B patent cliff by 2030 and MFN and IRA price pressure will slow earnings growth. The proposed 2027 Medicare Advantage rate rise was only 0.09%, pressuring managed care. Lilly is 20% of the basket. Figures as of November 2026.
